Fresh off his Friday inauguration, new U.S. President Donald Trump took steps to approve the delayed and then cancelled Keystone XL and Dakota Access pipelines. He proudly displayed his presidential signature of approval for everyone to see.

The approvals which were signed by the President in the Oval office are some of Trump’s first actions since taking office in Washington. The approvals are a major departure from the previous Obama administration, which had rejected TransCanada Corp.’s Keystone 2015 pipeline proposal.

“We are going to renegotiate some of the terms,” Trump told reporters today in the Oval Office as he signed the two measures. “We will build our own pipelines and we will build our own pipes.”

Calgary-based TransCanada stock jumped as much as 2.9 percent to C$64.36 on the announcement.
