Sometimes it’s a long, winding road to success and you never know exactly where your next big break will come from.  For Cranbrook business owner, Mike Hambalek, owner of Caliper Machine and Hydraulics Ltd, his latest high profile success story started with a profile and advertisement in Mining & Energy magazine published by Koocanusa Publications.

Hambalek’s story about his company’s unique and innovative products was spotted by Mike Attenborough, the main producer of BNN (Business News Network) who obviously is an avid reader of Mining and Energy magazine. Subsequent discussions resulted in an invitation for Mike to appear live on a BNN Commodities episode which was broadcast out of the company’s Toronto studio during the week of December 1, 2105.

“We design products that last and save customers money,” said Mike Hambalek, in the BNN interview. “We work with some the biggest mining companies and suppliers in the world.  Our solutions are designed to cut their costs and save them money, so our business has actually increased with the current downturn in the resource sector. Everyone wants to cut costs and be more efficient these days.”
