“Generate 2017” conference in Vancouver hosted by Clean Energy BC

Clean Energy BC recently hosted their 15th annual conference called Generate 2017. It was a line-up of plenary sessions, exhibitions, short courses, field trips and networking opportunities. The event was also a forum for discussion and engagement between our diverse community of Independent Power Producers, First Nations and government representatives, utilities, consultants, contractors and suppliers. The conference ran November 26-29, 2017. 

The Mining Association of BC was one of the participants at the conference with a booth focusing on the role mining plays in the production of the new line-up of eco-friendly, electric vehicles.

Clean Energy BC also announced the recipients of the 2017 Clean Energy Awards:

In other Clean Energy BC news, the organization welcomed a new executive director in October 2017. Here is the announcement: 

On behalf of the Board of Directors, I’m pleased to announce Jae Mather as the new Executive Director of Clean Energy BC. Jae comes to us from the Carbon Free Group who are based in the UK and Vancouver. He is a Canadian who has built a career in renewable energy, sustainable development and clean technology. Returning to Vancouver 2 years ago after an 18-year stint in Europe, working in local government, EU, Academia and private sector business, Jae brings a passion for clean technology solutions, with over 15 years spearheading innovation. Jae holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Environmental Decision Making from the Open University in the UK and a BA in Geography from SFU.

Jae will head the CEBC team and be responsible for working with our board of directors and volunteer committees to ensure the success of our goals and strategies. He’ll serve as the main public contact and spokesperson for the organization, and will represent the association in all professional business capacities.

His first official day is October 16th. He is looking forward to introducing himself and getting to know the employees, board members, stakeholders and CEBC members.
