Avanti Minerals has reopened the Kinsault molybdenum mine and finished a feasibility study, which projects a favourable economic scenario for the company. The mine and processing plant could be operational by 2014, with the investment of $770 million, according to the best-case scenario laid out in the report. The mine has produced over 30 million pounds of molybdenum in the past when the site was producing from 1968 to 1972 and 1981 to 1982. Currently, the estimated molybdenum output is 326,160 tonnes over 16 years.
