B&W PGG Canada ships one of the largest components ever in Saskatchewan
On November 17th and 18th, B&W Power Generation Group Canada Corp. delivered one of the largest components that ever shipped on Saskatchewan roads for K+S’s potash mine (Legacy Project), currently under development.
The two units, which were modularized in B&W’s Melville, SK manufacturing facility, are 98’ 7.3” long, 34’ 8.3” wide, 36’ 0.3” high and weigh 208,617 kgs.
Extensive preparations for the components move commenced two years ago, and were supported by the Government of Saskatchewan’s Ministry of the Economy and Highways and Infrastructure, the Melville Constituency Office and SaskPower, to name a few.
The evaporators will be used as part of the solution mining process at the K+S Potash mine near Bethune, SK.
B&W will ship two additional units in February of 2015.
