Names in the news: Resource sector

There have been several more recent resource moves and appointments in the mining and exploration industries. 

Robert Brennan has been appointed an independent director of San Gold Corp. He was previously president and CEO of Manitoba Hydro.

Paul Rollinson has been appointed CEO and a director of Kinross Gold Corp., replacing Tye Burt. Rollinson was previously executive vice-president, corporate development, at Kinross.

Don Demens has been appointed president of Western Forest Products Inc. He was previously vice-president, sales and manufacturing, and COO at the company.

James Currie has been appointed COO of Elgin Mining Inc. He was previously COO for Kimber Resources Inc. and New Gold Inc. and vice-president, operations, for Miramar Mining Corp.

Jerry Booth has joined the board of Andover Mining Corp. He was previously vice-president, resources, for the Cook Inlet Regional Corp.

Kenneth Rye and Jay Sujir have been appointed to the board of Carlin Gold Corp. Rye is managing director for global evaluations for the Electrum Group LLC. Sujir is a partner at Anfield Sujir Kennedy and Durno LLP.

David Hembree has been appointed vice-president, exploration, and James McKay as vice-president, project development for the Monterde project at Kimber Resources Inc. Hembree was previously exploration manager and qualified person with Golden Predator Mines US. McKay was previously a director with Aurex Resources and American Eagle Resources, executive vice-president and director with American Gold Capital Corp. and president, CEO and director of Battle Mountain Gold Exploration.

Rita Maguire has been appointed senior legal and government affairs adviser at Curis Resources Ltd. She is a founding member of Maguire & Pearce, PLLC and was previously founding president and CEO of the Arizona Center for Public Policy.

Peter Barnes has been appointed an adviser to Cascadero Copper Corp. He was previously CEO of Silver Wheaton and CFO of Wheaton River Minerals and Goldcorp Inc.

Robert Brown has been appointed vice-president of corporate development at Fortuna Silver Mines Inc. He was previously president and CEO of Calibre Mining Corp.
