SMS Equipment Inc. has announced that it is launching a new identity “Advanced Technologies” that will become the umbrella brand to host all SMS technologies going forward for all industries. They currently distribute many leading technologies such as: telematics for Komatsu (KOMTRAX and KOMTRAX Plus) & Wirtgen (HCQ), intelligent machine control Komatsu (iMC) & Wirtgen (WITOS), and autonomous haulage systems (AHS).

Customers will now be able to access all advanced technology information in one location via our website smsequip.com and be directed to the appropriate support personnel when making inquiries. Advanced Technologies will be integrated throughout SMS Equipment operations including a potential training centre to facilitate customer engagement and experience with our technologies.

“SMS continues to pioneer customer-focused advanced technology, and I am very proud of the team’s collaborative effort in developing an identity to drive our efforts into a new era of thinking. Advanced Technologies encompasses all of our industries technologies and allows us to be forward-thinkers of what could come next.” said Mike Granger, President and COO.

“Advanced Technologies is designed to adopt the technology of Autonomous Haulage Systems (AHS) into our organization and establish best fit. Further, after careful discussion, we arrived at the conclusion that we require a dedicated parent brand for all current technologies supported by SMS Equipment and yet, be flexible enough to incorporate any future technologies.” said Cory Moberg, GM for Remote Mining & AHS Operations.
