Vale launches 2019 Global Trainee Program

Vale is announcing the launch of its 2019 Global Trainee Program, a program designed to attract amazing young talent to our business worldwide.

"As we transform our business, the 2019 Global Trainee Program will help us attract young new talent to our pipeline to shape a more digital, global and sustainable future," said Maria Gurgel, Director of Human Resources for Vale's Base Metals Operations.

In Canada, Vale is recruiting 12 young professionals to come and spend a year with the Company in 2019 in locations including Sudbury, Toronto, Long Harbour and Voisey's Bay. Over 12 months, participants will have the opportunity to participate in job rotations with a focus on global and digital projects. Through this experience, trainees will be able to develop their career, advance technical and leadership competencies and exchange experiences with people from different locations and cultures within Vale.

Criteria for application to the program includes:

  • Completion of a University Degree in a professional designation with graduation dates that fall between July 2015 and December 2018
  • Ability to travel and move temporarily to other cities and countries
