AMEBC 31st Anniversary Mineral Exploration Roundup

Monday, January 27, 2014 – January 30, 2014 Westin Bayshore, Vancouver, British Columbia

Western Canada's premier mineral exploration conference featuring trade shows, technical sessions, field trips, and networking opportunities. The event brings together over 7,800 delegates from 44 countries to showcase the latest in exploration technology, discoveries, and industry best practices.

The AMEBC Mineral Exploration Roundup represents the largest and most significant mineral exploration gathering in Western Canada, celebrating its 31st anniversary with an expanded program focused on current and future innovations in the exploration sector. The four-day conference combines a sold-out exhibition trade show featuring more than 240 companies with comprehensive educational programming that spans technical sessions, field excursions, and specialized short courses. The exhibition floor serves as the event's centerpiece, showcasing an impressive cross-section of mineral exploration and development companies alongside cutting-edge supplies and technology that are revolutionizing the sector both in British Columbia and internationally. Key attractions include 90 geological and economic geology posters from research projects across Canada, Core Shack exhibits featuring new discoveries and advanced projects covering commodities from copper and gold to rare earth metals, and the unique Prospectors' Tent where independent prospectors present their mineral properties using maps, samples, drill core, and other materials. The conference offers two substantial field trip opportunities: a two-day excursion to the complex Myra Falls volcanogenic massive sulphide deposit on Vancouver Island, including underground and surface tours with an overnight stay in Campbell River, and a comprehensive geological tour of the Copper Mountain Project's newly designed super pit and processing facilities. Technical programming covers critical topics including discovery strategies, public geoscience initiatives, best practices implementation, and regional presentations focused on Yukon, Alaska, and historical sites across British Columbia, while specialized short courses delve into advanced topics such as exploration targeting methodologies and hydrothermal systems analysis. The event's commitment to collaborative industry development is exemplified by the Gathering Place Aboriginal pavilion, where First Nations leaders, industry executives, and company representatives share innovative approaches to building productive working relationships, discuss successful collaborative engagement strategies, and outline future development plans, all enhanced by spectacular cultural performances that celebrate Indigenous heritage in the mining sector.
