CERBA Russia & Eurasia Mining Conference 2014

Monday, March 10, 2014 Toronto, Ontario

Annual mining conference held during PDAC 2014 focusing on regulatory updates, political climate, and investment opportunities in Russia, Kazakhstan and other Eurasian countries. The event brought together 150+ experts from business, government, diplomatic, academic and consulting backgrounds.

This flagship annual conference served as the premier gathering for Canadian mining interests in Russian and Eurasian markets, strategically timed to coincide with PDAC 2014 to maximize industry participation. The event addressed critical regulatory developments including Russia's legislative reform efforts to streamline subsoil use relations and Kazakhstan's groundbreaking New Mining Code development. High-level government officials from both Russia and Kazakhstan presented alongside senior executives from major Canadian mining companies including Kinross Gold, Centerra Gold, and Stans Energy. The conference provided unique access to regulatory decision-makers and practical insights from companies successfully operating in these challenging but resource-rich jurisdictions. Attendees gained firsthand knowledge of evolving investment frameworks, regulatory compliance requirements, and market entry strategies. The event concluded with a specialized roundtable on Canada-Russia Northern Development cooperation, contributing to the Arctic and North Working Group of the Canada-Russia Intergovernmental Economic Commission and highlighting the strategic importance of Arctic resource development partnerships.
