The PDAC 2018 Convention represented a watershed moment for the mining industry, drawing 25,606 attendees from over 125 countries to Toronto in what organizers described as a clear signal of the sector's recovery from recent economic challenges. The four-day event featured sold-out exhibitor space and comprehensive programming including panel discussions, technical courses, workshops, and prestigious networking events such as the Awards Gala. A standout feature was the third annual International Mines Ministers Summit, hosted in partnership with the World Economic Forum, which brought together a record 26 mining ministers from around the world to discuss building trust and enhancing the sector's contributions to national development. The convention's diverse programming catered to all segments of the mining community, with popular Aboriginal, Capital Markets, CSR Event Series, Student and Technical programs, as well as Short Courses and Presentations. The significant participation of nearly 30 federal, provincial and territorial government officials underscored PDAC's leadership role in the Canadian mining sector and its influence on policy development.
