Alectra Utilities is continuing its efforts to re-vitalize underground cables in Brampton, announcing the completion of a modernization project totalling $2.2 million.
Completed in November, the project runs along Mackay Street North between Bovaird Drive East and North Park Drive and on Howden Boulevard between Dixie Road and Williams Parkway East. Older deteriorated cables were replaced to improve electrical service reliability in the community.
The $2.2 million investment is part of an infrastructure upgrade initiative undertaken by Alectra that included replacing 8.2 kilometres (km) of underground cable supported by eight new above-grade padmounted switching units.
Alectra Utilities is continuously investing in the electricity grid in the communities it serves to support growth and provide safe and reliable service. Learn more at alectrautilities.com.
