The PDAC International Convention, Trade Show and Investors Exchange will be held at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre March 2 to March 5, 2014. Visit www.pdac.ca for the full schedule, session and speaker information, and to register.

A new series of technical sessions and corporate social responsibility programming at the convention will demonstrate precisely how the Canadian exploration industry is changing and what company leaders will need to know to forge ahead in the coming year.

New this year is the convention’s Aboriginal Program, with speakers and sessions covering the development of partnerships between First Nations and industry where development takes place on traditional territory.

Sessions covering rights, roles and responsibilities between companies and aboriginal communities as well as an aboriginal forum and sessions covering aboriginal issues in the mineral sector, including considerations and complexities, will reflect the importance of developing positive relationships with First Nations in the Canadian exploration sector.

The Corporate Social Responsibility Events Series looks at reducing harm to mining-affected communities, community engagement for junior companies, and balancing the relationship between capital markets and environmental and social risks.

Delegates interested in the technical side of exploration can expect short courses on everything from geochemistry in exploration and health and safety to investment fundamentals and mineral disclosure standards. The Technical Program is a speaker series that invites industry experts to discuss the industry’s forefront in financial markets, human resources, mineral economics and other areas of business development.

Convention delegates always look forward to the Investors Exchange, where more than 600 junior exploration companies, major mining companies, mid-sized producers, prospectors and stock exchanges exhibit their companies’ activities and opportunities. Exhibit space at the Convention Trade Show is already sold out to more than 418 participants showcasing innovative developments in mineral exploration technology and products.

Get a first-hand look at the world’s latest discoveries at the Core Shack, where exhibitors will showcase their maps, charts and technical information. Don’t miss the Prospectors’ Tent—reserved exclusively for self-employed or independent prospectors interested in displaying their maps, samples and claim results.

Investors Exchange attendees have the option to register for a free Investors Exchange Only Pass, which grants access to the Investors Exchange, Letter Writing Presentations for Investors featuring the best in industry commentators, the Corporate Presentation Forum for Investors, Core Shack exhibits, Presentation Rooms, the Prospectors Tent and the Innovation Forum organized by CAMESE.

Students enjoy a discounted yearly PDAC membership and convention registration rates. The convention’s student program offers convention travel funding, PDAC-CIM Toronto branch guided tours, and access to all convention exhibits and sessions.
