Focus Graphite Signs LOI for High-Performance Natural Graphite-Based RF Shielding Technology

Focus Graphite Inc. has entered into a non-binding Letter of Intent with PermaTint Ltd. to evaluate the potential acquisition or licensing of a proprietary radio frequency shielding coating formulation that incorporates natural flake graphite. This development represents a significant advancement in the company's downstream commercialization strategy, targeting high-value defence and secure communications markets.

The RF shielding technology has undergone rigorous independent testing at the University of the German Federal Armed Forces in Munich, demonstrating exceptional performance across defence-relevant frequencies. Testing conducted in accordance with international standards (IEEE 299 and ASTM D4935) showed shielding effectiveness ranging from 36 dB to over 50 dB depending on coating thickness, translating to the ability to block up to 99.99% of electromagnetic radiation across frequencies from 5 GHz to 40 GHz. Additional validation across lower frequency bands (100 MHz to 8 GHz) confirmed consistent performance across commercial and defence communication ranges.

This partnership aligns with Focus Graphite's strategic focus on high-performance applications where premium graphite grades command superior margins. The company is positioning its high-grade Lac Knife Project material as a key differentiator in specialized markets, moving away from competing solely on cost with adversarial supply chains. With approximately 750-800kg of high-quality graphite concentrates nearing completion at SGS Canada, Focus is well-positioned to conduct validation testing using its own material to accelerate commercialization efforts.
