Ursa Major Minerals (TSX:UMJ) has reached commercial production capacity at its Shakespeare nickel mine site near Sudbury, Ontario. The company shipped off roughly 36,932 tonnes of ore for processing at the Strathcona Mill over two months during the quarter ending July 31, 2010. Metals extracted from the ore include 279,000 pounds of nickel, 318,000 pounds of copper, 17,900 pounds of cobalt and 1,200 ounces of precious metals. Sales of the metals extracted from the mine totalled $1.6 million. The company also plans to undertake a 2,000-metre exploration program into its Nickel Offsets Property.
