Industrial Equipment Manufacturing (IEM) designs and manufactures heavy-duty apron pan feeders for the most rugged and arduous applications where reliability and ease of maintenance of equipment are key.
Peter Hargreaves, in charge of business development with IEM, said apron feeders are typically used where very heavy vertical loads are applied, such as under a crusher, surge bin or reclaim stockpile.
The IEM apron feeder has features such as a heavy-duty steel frame and standard cast-manganese apron pans up to 120 inches (3,048 millimetres). Welded steel pans are also available.
Heavy equipment track rollers are used as support rollers for the size D4 to D10 equipment track chain. For ease of maintenance, the chain does not need to be raised to change the carry rollers.
The IEM apron feeder ensures durability with head and tailshaft split-pillow block housings and variable hydraulic or VFD speed drives with speed reducers.
“A variable-speed speed drive is normally used to provide a variable delivery based on the process requirements,” said Hargreaves. “Apron feeders are ruggedly designed to run continuously up to 50 feet per minute, giving constant, arduous, trouble-free performance under the most extreme conditions.”
