Metalero Reports Soil and Geophysics Results at the Sundberg Target on the Benson Project, Quesnel Trough, British Columbia

Metalero Mining Corp. has announced encouraging results from its ionic leach soil geochemical survey and geophysics program at the Sundberg target within the Benson Project, located in British Columbia's prolific Quesnel Trough. The company identified copper-in-soil anomalies covering approximately 5 square kilometers that correlate well with magnetic highs and conductivity anomalies from VLF-electromagnetic surveys. These anomalies flank strong magnetic signatures and remain open in multiple directions, indicating significant exploration potential for porphyry-style mineralization.

The exploration program consisted of two ionic leach surveys conducted in spring and fall 2025, collecting a total of 835 soil samples across the Cantin, Sundberg, and Chiaz targets with 100-meter sample spacing. The results validate the AI-driven QUEST targets identified by Geoscience BC, which highlighted this area for its similarity to known porphyry deposits in the region. The Sundberg target is strategically positioned just 35 kilometers northwest of the Mt Polley mine, within a geological belt that hosts over 360 alkalic copper-gold porphyry occurrences.

The Benson Project's location in the Quesnel Trough positions Metalero advantageously within one of Canada's most significant mineral belts. This 1,500-kilometer-long geological formation stretches from the US border to Yukon Territory and hosts major producing mines including Highland Valley, Mt Milligan, and New Afton. The project benefits from excellent infrastructure access via Highway 26 and extensive logging road networks, enabling cost-effective exploration activities.

The positive correlation between soil geochemistry and geophysical signatures suggests the presence of sulfide minerals at depth, supporting the potential for substantial porphyry mineralization. With anomalies open in multiple directions and limited historical exploration since the early 1990s, the Benson Project presents compelling targets for systematic drilling programs. The company's systematic approach to exploring AI-identified targets demonstrates the potential for significant discoveries in this underexplored portion of the Quesnel Trough.
