CNSX president Robert Cook gives monthly review September 2012.
Participants in the securities industry spend a lot of time reviewing and commenting on proposed changes to rules and regulations, market structure issues, regulatory fees, and so on. Some of these are very welcome changes and one of those has been rereleased.
The CSA has come out with an updated proposal to streamline the reporting requirements for “venture issuers”, which includes companies listed on CNSX. We of course applaud the initiative and welcome the latest proposals as they have responded to comments received from many quarters, including CNSX. We encourage anyone associated with a CNSX issuer to review the proposed changes and provide comments to the CSA by the deadline of December 12.
Following implementation of any changes resulting from this CSA initiative we hope to be close behind with proposals of our own to further streamline or reduce CNSX reporting requirements if the CSA requirements will serve the same purpose. This has been our modus operandi from day one and we don’t want to stop now.
