Veris Gold Corp. (“Veris” or the “Company”) reports that the Company will be co-operating with the Energy, Mines and Resources branch of the Yukon Government to address certain maintenance and remedial work required by the Yukon Government at the Ketza River Project located in the Yukon, Territory.
The work includes maintenance work on access road bridges and seepage control and stabilization of surface water diversion structures. The work will be funded from a CND$3.0 million security fund that the Company has established for reclamation.
The Yukon Government will undertake the contracting of the required work. The Company, having already completed initial scoping for some of the work utilizing local resources, has offered to co-operate and has urged the Yukon Government to work with the Company to ensure the most efficient and cost effective completion of the works.
The Ketza River Project is operated by the Company’s’ wholly owned subsidiary, Ketza River Holdings Ltd.
