Corvus Energy won both Supplier of the Year and Innovation of the Year awards at the 2017 Electric & Hybrid Marine World Expo for the third consecutive year. The company has secured over 2 dozen new projects totaling more than 15MWh using their Orca ESS battery technology since its launch.
EnviroLeach announces construction of environmentally friendly e-waste processing facility
EnviroLeach Technologies has commenced construction of North America's largest environmentally friendly e-waste processing facility in partnership with Mineworx Technologies (TSXV:MWX) in Coquitlam, BC. The 10 tonne per day plant will process 2,500 tonnes annually of printed circuit boards using proprietary water-based chemistry with FDA-approved ingredients. The facility is expected to be operational by Q4 2017 and represents a significant advancement in green precious metals extraction from electronic waste.
Corvus Energy Orca ESS to power one of the world’s cleanest offshore platform supply vessels
Richmond-based Corvus Energy has been selected by Wärtsilä to supply lithium-ion energy storage systems for retrofitting the Viking Princess offshore platform supply vessel. The 533kWh Orca Energy ESS will replace one LNG genset and deliver 1 tonne of fuel savings per day in North Sea operations.
CNL seeks input on small modular reactor technology
Canadian Nuclear Laboratories launched a Request for Expressions of Interest to gather input from SMR technology developers and stakeholders on small modular reactor deployment in Canada. The initiative runs from June 1 to July 31, 2017, with CNL positioning itself as a potential host for Canada's first demonstration SMR facility. CNL plans to begin generic site selection and licensing processes for the first demonstration reactor later in 2017.
