Rock Tech Lithium Inc. and Siemens Canada have entered into a strategic partnership that represents a significant milestone in Canada's critical minerals processing ambitions. The collaboration centers on the development of the Red Rock lithium converter in Ontario, which will be Canada's first domestic lithium conversion facility with a planned production capacity of up to 32,000 tonnes of lithium carbonate equivalent per year—sufficient to supply approximately 900,000 electric vehicles annually.

The partnership leverages Rock Tech's proven blueprint from its fully permitted Guben converter facility in Germany, significantly reducing technical risks and development timelines for the Canadian project. Siemens brings advanced digitalization expertise, particularly Digital Twin technology, which will optimize the facility's design, efficiency, and operational reliability throughout the entire project lifecycle from feasibility study through construction to operations. This technology transfer represents a concrete manifestation of German-Canadian cooperation within the G7 Critical Minerals Production Alliance framework.

The Red Rock project addresses a critical gap in North America's battery value chain by establishing midstream lithium processing capacity. When combined with Rock Tech's Georgia Lake mining project, it creates a fully vertically integrated supply chain entirely within Ontario.
