MEMO 2015, held in Edmonton, Alberta, is hosted by the Surface Mining, the Underground Mining, and the Maintenance, Engineering and Reliability Societies of the Canadian Institute of Mining, Metallurgy and Petroleum (CIM). The theme of this year's conference is "Operational threats from conception to closure."

Designed to appeal specifically to maintenance engineers and mine operators, MEMO is a renowned event where important contacts are made, knowledge is shared and current business relationships are strengthened.

On October 4th, the event will kick off with registration and an opening reception at the trade show. Meet up with other participants and get to know new experts who can enhance your knowledge of the mining industry.

Throughout the day on October 5th and 6th, there will be a technical program, an M4S show for teachers and students, a trade show, lunch and afternoon reception.

Kick back and relax on Monday night with scotch and tapas, and take advantage of some key networking opportunities. The evening is a fundraiser for the CIM Foundation, and 50 per cent of the proceeds will go to support educational programs and activities, including the M4S Fund. Those who attend will receive a partial receipt for income tax purposes or an invoice for their tickets.

The technical program topics include mine and infrastructure design and development, planning for safety, new techniques, technical issues and their solutions, resource identification and feasibility studies, people and productivity, energy management and other pertinent subjects.

On Wednesday, October 7th, you can head out on field trips and take part in other learning experiences.

The Shaw Conference Centre is located in downtown Edmonton, Alberta, overlooking the glorious North Saskatchewan River Valley and within walking distance of several dining and entertainment venues.
