Prismo Metals Completes Phase 1 Drill Campaign at Silver King

Prismo Metals Inc. has successfully completed its Phase 1 diamond drilling campaign at the Silver King project in Arizona's Pioneer Mining District, marking a significant milestone that has expanded the project's potential beyond its historic silver focus. The program consisted of eight diamond drill holes totaling 1,272 metres, with seven holes testing the upper portions of the historically mined Silver King pipe-like mineralized body and one deep hole targeting extensions below the historic mine workings.

The drilling results have validated the company's geological model while revealing encouraging new mineralization. All holes successfully intersected the targeted quartz-vein and stockwork system, confirming extensive epithermal quartz-barite veining with visible silver-bearing minerals including freibergite, stromeyerite, acanthite, and native silver. The shallow drilling confirmed that the upper levels of the deposit have not been as extensively mined as previously thought, suggesting additional near-surface silver potential remains.

The most significant discovery came from the deep test hole SK-26-07, which reached 1,600 feet and intersected a previously unrecognized intrusion exhibiting potassic alteration, abundant disseminated pyrite, and local chalcopyrite and pyrrhotite. This mineralization style is distinctly different from the epithermal silver mineralization in the upper levels and is characteristic of porphyry copper systems. The presence of secondary biotite, K-feldspar, and increasing sulfide content with depth suggests the drilling may have penetrated toward a higher-temperature hydrothermal system.

The implications of this discovery are substantial given the project's proximity to world-class copper deposits. The Silver King project sits just 3.4 kilometers from the Resolution Copper project, a joint venture between Rio Tinto and BHP that represents one of the world's largest unmined copper deposits with 1.787 billion metric tonnes at 1.5% copper grade. The vertical zoning observed at Silver King—transitioning from shallow high-grade silver to deeper copper mineralization—mirrors the geological evolution seen at other regional mines, including the historic Magma mine.

This discovery positions Prismo Metals at the forefront of a potentially significant copper exploration story in Arizona's prolific mining district. The company's next phase of drilling will focus on following up on the copper potential at depth, with the goal of defining what could be a much larger mineralized system than originally envisioned. The transition from a silver exploration play to a potential porphyry copper discovery significantly enhances the project's scale and economic potential in a region known for world-class copper deposits.
