Thunder Gold Corp. has made a strategic board appointment by adding Olympic champion and entrepreneur Donovan Bailey to its Board of Directors. Bailey, a five-time World and Olympic champion sprinter who set the 100-metre world record at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics, brings significant business acumen and global connections to the junior exploration company. His involvement signals growing confidence in Thunder Gold's flagship Tower Mountain project located 40 kilometres west of Thunder Bay, Ontario.

Bailey's appointment comes alongside the company's recent mineral resource estimate for Tower Mountain, released in January 2026, which established the property as a significant gold exploration target. The project benefits from exceptional infrastructure access, positioned directly off the Trans-Canada highway with both national rail lines running adjacent to the property and hydro crossing one end. This infrastructure advantage eliminates the need for road construction or worker camps, allowing personnel to return home daily to Thunder Bay.

The company has also announced the granting of 10.15 million stock options to officers, directors and consultants at a strike price of $0.15 for an 18-month term. This equity compensation structure aligns management and board interests with shareholders as Thunder Gold advances its exploration program. The Tower Mountain property encompasses 2,100 hectares surrounding the largest exposed intrusive complex in the eastern Shebandowan Greenstone Belt, with drilling having established anomalous gold extending over 500 metres from the intrusive contact along a 1,500-metre strike length.

Bailey's endorsement of Thunder Gold's potential, combined with his stated intention to leverage his global network to raise the company's profile, represents a significant validation for the junior explorer. His business experience beyond athletics and selective approach to business partnerships suggests a careful evaluation of Thunder Gold's prospects.
