Major business-to-business petroleum industry event featuring expanded programming on water innovation, digital oilfield technology, clean technology, and international market opportunities. The event includes the Global Petroleum Show Awards recognizing industry leaders making a significant impact.

The Global Petroleum Show stands as one of Canada's most significant petroleum industry gatherings, attracting professionals from across the oil and gas value chain to Calgary's iconic Stampede Park. The three-day event operates from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Tuesday and Wednesday, with Thursday concluding at 5 p.m., providing extensive opportunities for networking, learning, and business development.

The 2017 edition featured substantially expanded programming designed to address critical industry challenges and emerging opportunities. Key additions included the Water Innovation Zone, addressing increasingly important water management and treatment technologies, and the Pipelines, Transportation & Logistics Zone, reflecting ongoing infrastructure challenges in getting Canadian petroleum products to market. The Digital Oilfield Seminar Series highlighted the industry's accelerating adoption of data analytics, automation, and digital technologies to improve operational efficiency and reduce costs.

Particularly noteworthy was "The World is Here" programming, focusing on new and expanding international markets at a time when Canadian producers were actively seeking to diversify beyond traditional North American customers. The Clean Technology Seminar Series addressed growing environmental requirements and the industry's evolving approach to sustainability and emissions reduction.

The opening day Global Petroleum Show Awards ceremony provided recognition for industry leaders driving innovation and positive change during a challenging period for the sector. With hashtag #GPS17 facilitating social media engagement across Twitter, Facebook, and LinkedIn platforms, the event demonstrated strong digital integration alongside traditional face-to-face networking opportunities that remain essential for relationship building in the petroleum industry.
