Exploration Midland Inc. has announced the preliminary interpretation of results from an induced polarization (IP) geophysical survey conducted on its 100%-owned Caniapisc Au project in Quebec's Eeyou Istchee Baie-James and Caniapiscau regions. The 23.7-kilometer linear survey was completed during winter 2026 and covers a 4.5 by 1.2-kilometer area in the southern portion of the 159-square-kilometer property, which consists of 315 exclusive exploration permits.

The IP survey has identified several unexplained chargeability anomalies located within and adjacent to a lake area, positioned south and southwest of gold-bearing glacial boulders discovered during 2025 exploration programs. These boulders returned significant gold values, including a maximum of 24.5 g/t Au from selected samples, along with elevated zinc, manganese, and silver content. The spatial relationship between the IP anomalies and the mineralized boulder locations suggests potential upstream glacial sources worthy of follow-up exploration.

The Caniapisc Au project is strategically positioned within the Ashuanipi Subprovince of the Superior Archean Province, specifically covering rocks of the Raynouard Complex. This 50-kilometer-long volcano-sedimentary belt is characterized by bimodal volcanic sequences, metasedimentary rocks, and iron formations. Historical exploration work south of the project has demonstrated the potential for volcanogenic Cu-Zn-Ag-Au and porphyry Cu-Au-Ag-Mo mineralization within this geological setting.

Midland's upcoming summer exploration program will include prospecting and geological mapping to follow up on the IP anomalies, soil sampling to complete project coverage, and an airborne LiDAR survey. The company will also integrate the new IP data with 2025 airborne magnetic and electromagnetic survey results covering 2,001 linear kilometers to better understand the geological and structural context of the mineralization. This systematic approach positions Midland to advance understanding of the gold potential within this underexplored region of the Superior Province.
